Clean Slate: Day 1 Of class, Day 2 of being in Paris, as well as Getting Around Town. 5/31/2022

Today was a productive day for me. On the first official day of class, today we went over the syllabus and had a nice lunch, eating some steak and French fries with a dessert called Dark Chocolate Fondant (kind of like lava cake). I am adjusting to the time change well. It still is kind of weird to wake up when my friends and family back home are falling asleep, but that’s working out fine because I’m still finding time in my busy schedule to have a conversation, whether on WhatsApp or Snapchat. Going to class today, I thought it would be a little bit of a challenge to find where we were meant to go. But I was wrong. I rode the Metro Bus system today, and my life was easy. All I had to do was scan my bus pass, and boom, I was on the bus. The app “City Mapper” was the thing that made it easy: it tells me when the Metro is coming and when exactly to get on and off. A First Time For Everything. 5-30-22: Day 1 ABROAD

This trip is full of a lot of first times for me. I’ve never traveled alone before, that’s a huge step, already not knowing the ropes of basic travel, but now I’m traveling internationally to study sports Journalism in Paris. At first thought, you might think I’m insane, but it’s time for me to grow as a human being and get out into the world. Going through Metro Detroit airport trying to navigate getting to my gate worked up quite a bit of stress. I could hear my heart thumping in distress. Things didn't get much easier for me.  I got on the plane to Paris. My seat was right next to the lavatory, making it hard to shut my eyes because I was constantly hearing the toilet flushing. Let’s simulate now the landing; we made it. My excitement is through the roof; I am ready to start things in Paris, prepared to talk about some cool stuff in the world around me.
