Montmartre Day 10. 6-8-22

Today was workout Wednesday, a day that first started off a little rainy and turned into an enjoyable walking tour around Montmartre. You might be wondering, “Why was the workout on Wednesday?” This is because Montmartre is full of hills. However, running cross-country back then trained me for these hills because they were a piece of cake. Enough of that; let’s talk briefly about the history of the place. Montmartre was known hugely for its art. But also, the atmosphere surrounding it is something to see as well. The sights are lovely. Not only are there hills here, but the streets are all cobblestones. Today, I will let the pictures tell the story of this historic town.

This study abroad was an eye-opener when it came to sports media before going on this trip. I’m not going to lie to you; I was so focused only on ESPN when it came to sports journalism.   Meet former Italian rhythmic   Olympian G ymnast  Elisa Blanchi. Elisa is 34 years old now. She started when she was just three years of age. To her name, she has 100 international medals, including five gold results at the world championships. She has appeared in three Olympic games: Athens when she was just 16, Beijing in 2008, and London in 2012. Her training is no joke. She would wake up, train for eight hours, and then go to school.     In these types of competitions, Routine was essential to Elisa, especially on the day of the competition. It would start early in the morning with makeup and some good food; she then would head to the SportsCenter, where she gets some training and relax before the match. Before I get going with today’s blog,  I want to take the time to thank those who have been giving me words of encouragement and sharing their thoughts in the comment section about what they just read.
